The Hall, a grade II listed building which was built in 1803 by a local wealthy builder of Ashburton has been restored to its former glory and transformed into modern living. The Hall plays homage to the unique relationship of Lord Byron and Scott – Literary greats of the 1800s. on the front elevation of the building were two busts depicting the poets.
Working alongside Complete Estate agents and Regal Heritage LTD, we were tasked to create the visual identity, brochure and sales aids for the restoration development. Taking ideas from Scott and Byron we came up with an identity that had a feeling of tradition, elegance and was rich in colour. Baskerville was one of our chosen fonts, a traditional serif which was designed by John Baskerville around the same time as both poets were writing their literary greats. An illustration of Lord Byron’s bust also features on the front cover of the brochure and marketing material.
